Quidditch Rules;;
These rules apply during school and professional matches and are subject to change whenever we deem necessary. No regulations will shift during a game, however, and will be put into affect the following game instead. If you have any questions about a particular rule, direct them to any administrative member on the site.
Chaser Rules
Chasers may post at any time, so long as a player from the opposite team has posted between each post. Chasers may pass and attempt to score at any time during the game. Whether or not a score is successful is not up to the Chaser. When a Bludger has been hit at a Chaser, it is up to that Chaser to decide if it hits, unless it has been intercepted by another Beater or Chaser. Chasers may also intercept passes made by other Chasers, but only if it is realistic for them to do so.
Beater Rules
Beaters may post at any time, so long as a member from the opposite team has posted between each post. They may hit the Bludger at any member of the opposing team at any time with the exception of either Keepers. Beaters may only target the Keeper when the Quaffle is in the scoring zone. Whether or not a Bludger hits its target is not up to the Beater. Beaters may also intercept Bludgers aimed at other players.
Keeper Rules
Keepers may only post if the Quaffle enters the scoring zone. Whether an attempt to score is successful or not is up to the Keeper. However, a certain level of realism is expected.
Seeker Rules
After there have been three total posts made by each team, the Seekers will be sent a PM from a game judge who will give the Seekers a random clue or riddle. There will be twenty clues total. These will be the same for both seeker, but given in a random order. The clues will lead the Seeker to any character, plot, rule, news article, or image on the site . The Seeker must find the answer, and PM the judge to receive their next clue. After a Seeker has solved all twenty riddles, they have captured the Snitch. At that point, the winning Seeker is to post an in-character rendition of the catch, and the game will officially halt.
IC Referee
There is one IC Referee. He or she is in charge of calling IC fouls in the game. He or she may not have a character in the game.
OOC Judge
There are two OOC Judges. Neither may have a character in the game. The OOC judges are in charge of determining realism in the match and running the Seekers’ search. They collaborate to come up with a list of twenty clues to give the Seekers in a random order and take turns giving them to the Seekers.
Scoring System IC
--Ten points are awarded for scoring a goal. --One hundred and fifty points are awarded for catching the Snitch. OOC
--Ten points are awarded for exemplary realistic posts. --Ten points are deducted for unrealistic posts and god-moding.
